Privacy notice

This notice explains how MB Computers ("we") handles information you give us on ourapp.uk, under UK data protection law (the UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018).

OurApp is a service of MB Computers (mbc.scot), run by Matthew Brown as a sole trader in Scotland, UK, [ADDRESS]. MB Computers is the controller of your data. ICO registration number: [ICO REGISTRATION NUMBER]. For any privacy question, email matthew@mbc.scot.

What we collect

When you send an enquiry we collect your name, email address, the product you're interested in and your message. We also record the date and time and a one-way hash of your IP address, used only to prevent spam and abuse.

Why we use it

We use your details only to reply to your enquiry and to discuss and quote for the work you've asked about. The lawful basis is our legitimate interest in responding to requests you make, and taking steps at your request before entering into a contract.

Who sees it

Enquiries are emailed to MB Computers and stored on our server in the UK. We don't sell your data or use it for marketing lists, and we don't share it with anyone else except our hosting and email providers who process it on our behalf.

How long we keep it

We keep enquiries for up to 24 months after our last contact, unless they lead to a project, in which case we keep them as part of our business records.

Cookies

This site uses one strictly necessary session cookie, ourapp_s, which protects the enquiry form against forgery and shows you a confirmation after sending. It is deleted when you close your browser. Our security network (Cloudflare) may also set a strictly necessary __cf_bm cookie (30 minutes) to block bots. Your light/dark theme choice is stored in your browser only. We don't use analytics or advertising cookies.

Your rights

You can ask to see, correct or delete your data, restrict or object to how we use it, or get a copy of it, by emailing matthew@mbc.scot. We'll reply within one month. If you're unhappy, you can also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint, 0303 123 1113). See also our terms of service.
